Dorothy Ann Hacker, age 73 of rural Martinsville, IL, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009 at her residence. She was born on August 3, 1936, the daughter of Harry and Mina (Shawver) Beasley of Martinsville. She was one of ten children. She married Mr. Jay Dean Hacker in Clark County. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2005. Mrs. Hacker is survived by one daughter: Deborah (husband Scott) Lindley of rural Marshall; two sons: Jeff (wife Donna) Hacker of Westfield and Monty (wife Malia) Hacker of Decatur, IL; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Bob (wife Connie) Beasley of Martinsville, Gene (wife Ruth) Beasley of Casey, and Bill Beasley of Effingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Hacker was a wonderful wife and mother who took great pride in caring for her family. Coming from a home filled with ten children, taught her the skills she relied upon to provide her loved ones with not only the necessities of life, but unique and interesting canned and prepared foodstuffs as well. Throughout her life, she took various employment and charitable positions that allowed her to contribute to the welfare and benefit of others, including caring for the elderly, assisting those in need with necessary contributions and being a part of the kitchen staff of Eastern Illinois University. However, her primary focus always remained dedicated to the care and needs of her family who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Goodwin Family Funeral Home of Casey. Funeral Service will be held the next morning on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Westfield, IL immediately following services. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the American Diabetes Association. The service will be officiated by Pastors Joe Warner and Scott Sims. Pallbearers will be Joshua Rue, Jeremy Hacker, Aaron Hacker, Brandon Lindley, Greg Beasley, and John Beasley.
